Are they open on Thanksgiving??
Great service! Good food, quick for a light lunch!
Stumbled upon the great cafe. The peach sangria lured me in but the food was delicious! I am from Louisiana, close to New Orleans, so my palette is spoiled. I had chess ravioli with andouille sausage which was fabulous. Christine our waitress was precious. She was excited about serving us and our food choices. The patio is pet friendly, which I’ve never seen before. Pretty cool! Highly recommend this place. Not too expensive either.
MoreThe food is pretty good and our waiter was nice. He came and checked on us from time to time and made sure we didn't need anything else.
MoreOur first food stop in Savannah. We ordered off the lunch menu. After eating, we were hoping it wasn't a sign of dining experiences to come. Outside seating was quite nice but food is overpriced and mediocre at best. Our server was welcoming and attentive but the food wasn't great for the price point. Wouldn't go back
MoreWe ate lunch today at the Cafe at City Market and it surpassed our expectations. Our sever was Rachel and if we ever had a better server I can't remember. The food was great and the homemade Peach Cobbler was to die for we highly recommend this resturant. We are staying until Friday and we plan on coming back.
MoreWe couldn't enjoy our food due to the flies in the building. We are suppose to be six feet apart but the building isn't that big. Our waiter Rachael act as if we were a bigger because we asked for our check to be fixed. The food was not hot. The kitchen staff is listening to music very loud with profound language
MoreThe spinach artichoke dip was amazing. Give that a try
The food was good/fresh. Service was slow.
Quick and friendly service with amazing drinks and food to feed the soul!
We really enjoyed this restaurant. It is right in the heart of city market area. We ate outside, so it was fun to people watch. Food and service was great!
MoreDelicious food, nice atmosphere, friendly attentive staff, I thought the prices were fair. I would definitely go back. The Spinach Artichoke Dip was huge!
MoreThis is one of the best places in Savannah to have a nice lunch or dinner. The shrimp and grits are incredible but have a unique flavor to it. The wide variety of menu items makes it easy to find something for everyone at your table. The mixed drinks are out of this world and well worth the price. Our waitress, Rachel, was outstanding and I would definitely ask for her because she will make sure you are satisfied while providing quick responses to all our questions.
MoreService was quick all the way around. Ambiance good enough with outside seating. Friendly server? Eh. I’d only go back for a drink.Ordered muffulettas; greasy, salted when not necessary, and plain minuscule; not to mention the ridiculous “olive salad”; like a paste and looked gross (see pic). NOT a true muffuletta but instead a pressed sandwich with fried meat on it. Hairs in the pasta salad, yuck; neither of us has even close to black hair. Who ever works in the kitchen with facial hair needs to cover it up! Gag, but we didn’t ask for anything to be taken off the bill since that sandwich was completely eaten before the pasta. Nor did we hear an apology as easy going and nice as we are. No regards for the faux pas. This was my experience and pictured below. Wish I could give a zero. But I did tip the server 20% minus $1 for her lack of care with the hair issue; I would have been proactive and taken the cost of the tea off the bill if I were her.
MoreThey still serve water in the glasses they inaugurated with 😂. This is a great location, I’ve mixed feeling about their food and drinks though. Some of what we ordered was great and others ehhh.. the place was decent enough to replace the food though so can’t complain but I’d suggest this place only for location not food and drinks.
MoreWe shared the grilled cheese & ribeye sandwich and a cheeseburger with potato wedges and potato salad. The food was so good; simple, yet flavorful. And of course we had to have peach sangrias...10/10!!!
MoreAvoid this place like the plague. Absolutely the worst ever. Waiting 45 minutes to get in, no issues it's a busy area. Even though there were multiple empty tables, the hostess said they had to let the kitchen catch up. Waitress took our drink orders, and it took 15 minutes to get those. Took an HOUR to get our food after we finally ordered. The manager came over, and said "Sorry about the wait our kitchen is cooking things out of order". Why?? Our order arrives, and my " Sliced prime rib on a grill cheese sandwich was a .50 cent steak-umm on two pieces of cheese. My girlfriend's food was dry like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for twenty minutes. A fifty dollar bill for ten bucks worth of food and a dollar's worth of service .
MoreThe food is just typical bar food. Service is good, location is great.
Our server and the lady seating us was very accommodating. I had the pecan chicken salad on the hoagie. It was very bland and had little taste. My husband had the ham and cheese, it would have been better had they toasted it. We had the peach Bellini and it was good. Very disappointed and would not go back.
MoreFood was excellent. Our waiter Omar was fast and very efficient.
Waitress was very courteous. Food was good and cooked the way everyone wanted. Will return if we ever come back to Savannah.
MoreWorst service I’ve ever had. 330pm and it took an hour to get our food two burgers and a kids pasta.
MoreI would say this is a fair assessment. They were fast and started off very good! Main part of the meal the muffuletta was really good but a but salty. My Greek pasta salad noodles were over cooked and had 2 wcvb hairs. Very sad but it happens. The issue was no apology at all. No concern at all either. The server was nice but needs guest service training on complaints.
MoreYo the black & Blu chicken sandwich is unbelievable. Highly recommend. Cheers
DON"T BOTHER. So many other options! Worst tea ever, tasted like water. I had her bring me some without ice. Still tasted like water. If you can't do Tea right in the south, you may as well pack it in. Terrible service. The server seemed bothered to even be at work, no postive personality whatesoever, no thing to contribute to understanding the menu options. The food took forever to reach the table. Sloppy presentation, blah taste, nothing interesting about the food at all. Ordered a flounder BLT and it showed up with no Tomato. Said they ran out. Maybe should have told me that before I ordered it! The only postiive was that the manager did comp me a side of collards since they had no tomato. And the collards were pretty good. Got the bill, then the server disappered for 20 minutes. We finally just gathered up enough cash to leave and walked out.......
MoreThe service was excellent. The meals are made from scratch so it took a little longer to get our food. The wait was worthwhile as everything was absolutely delicious. We started the evening by sitting outside enjoying the music and the crowds. When it became too chilly, they moved us right inside without an issue.
MoreVisiting the city and walking through the City Market saw several outdoor seating areas with similar menus, but we were drawn in by the Georgia Peach Sangria which was delicious. I ordered the Southern Pecan Chicken Salad served on a french roll with pasta salad. The sandwich had great flavor, but the pasta salad was very unpleasant. Someone at my table ordered the shimp and grits that were overly soggy and served with greens that he said were barely edible, unfortunately not all wins here.
MoreFood is ok at best. Restaurant has a dirty worn look to it. There are much better restaurants in the area than this one.
MoreGreat location, staff and environment! My first time eating shrimps and grits and it was yum yum. They had no issues in finding a table inside the restaurant as it started raining while we were eating outside.
MoreFood was good. Loved the atmosphere. Small place and not expensive. Our waiter was very attentive. Definitely recommend for a quick bite to eat.
MoreTook an hour to get hour food. They said they lost the ticket....ok, it happens. They then burnt the pizza and made an below average sandwich. Had to wait on them again to pay the check. Don’t bother with this place.
MoreGive it a chance. Service and food was excellent and delivered surprisingly quick for table of 6. Menu has great selections. Establishment does show its age but has character.
MoreGot the peach sangria 2 for $17 with +20% tip. Tasted great, had peaches and did not skimp on the alcohol. Pro tip: ask for light ice.One minor tip: Let them know or be asked if you are dining in or walking outside. We dined in and got ours in plastic cups. Other people dining in had theirs in glass mugs. Plastic is great for being outside, but would have been nice in glass for experience.
MoreI visited this place by default as our party just got out of the Prohibition Museum across the street and it was pouring rain out and we had no umbrella! Saw the Cafe at City Market and since it was hot and humid and pouring out we decided dodge the raindrops and go over there to get a drink. They had a covered outdoor patio we could have sat at but we opted for the inside which was cool and not humid. We ordered 2 beverages - a Cucumber Cooler and a Black Cow which was just perfect. The server did a great job as we told him we were in a sort of rush since we were on the Trolly Tour (pickup at same corner across the street) and we thought we would like to get going as soon as the downpour stopped. He served us fast and brought the bill fast like we requested. Good drinks.
MoreVery disappointed! We've been to the cafe every summer for several years and looked forward to it so much. This year the food was not good at all. The spices in the shrimp and grits overpowered the dish, the cheese on the sandwich my husband ordered wasn't even melted, and potatoes weren't cooked through. The peach sangria was weak and nothing like past years. Will definitely remove from our list to visit while in town
MoreGood food, especially the Italian Muffuletta!
To be fair we didn’t eat. Server was good but got busy with other tables and we really weren’t eating so understandable. We stopped for a seat outside and some drinks. Only reason this is 2 stars is the to go beer we ordered when we left was full 16oz price in an 8 oz plastic cup. Rip off.
MoreStumbled upon this place while exploring. Great service. friendly staff, the food we ordered was wonderful, and the prices were reasonable. What more can you ask for. We would look for this place on our next visit to Savanna.
MoreStopped in for a quick bite and had the chicken cordon blue. It was fantastic! The service was friendly and prompt. I would definitely come back again.
MorePlace is a joke. Black bean soup looks and tastes like warmed up can beans. Shrimp scampi full of pasta with butter with 4 shrimps. What a waste of money
MoreGood service and the Alfredo pasta was tasty
My friend and I enjoyed music at the market and experienced nice service. Must try - Peach Sangria
MoreI really enjoyed taking a break from sightseeing around Savannah by stopping for lunch at this cafe. I ate the meatloaf sandwich with roasted potatoe wedges. It was delicious. The sandwich is a slice of meatloaf between two texas toast slices. This is served with a dipping sauce. The food and service were great.
MoreThis place is a joke. My husband was starving, so we stumbled upon this place today. I wish I would have read the reviews first. Everything about this meal was terrible. My husband ordered shrimp and grits.it was a super small portion of slop slapped on a plate. I had black bean soup. It looked like a bowl of black beans out of a can and I also had a wilted salad. I feel like I was robbed of my time and money. I can’t believe a restaurant operates this way. So disappointing!
MoreThe atmosphere was nice. We sat outside. My wife had the chicken cordon bleu which she absolutely loved. I had the chicken marsala it was good however the chicken was not cooked all the way. The staff was friendly...but absent most of the meal.
MoreWill rather dine in at other nearby restaurants. We had to wait over 45 min to get our food without being notified and yet the food tasted typical and wasn't worth the time. The waitress was polite and it wasn't her fault but we wish we were told of the wait time in the beginning.
MoreSomething has gone very wrong here. One photo is of a fantastic cobbler Feb 2019 and the other is of a microwaved mess Sep 2019. It was appalling. We left a 20% tip because this is clearly a management and owner issue. We were say outside for 20 minutes before I went in to ask where the server was. The gentleman I asked nodded then walked right past me.
MoreGreat peach Sangria!
Tia provided awesome service. Food was great.
Walked in around 3 and it was pretty empty. The hostess was reading a book about death and we had to say hello excuse me for her to acknowledge us. Then it took over 15 minutes for anyone to greet us at the table. I had to go back up to the hostess and ask her to get a waitress. Drinks took forever. And had attitudes from the staff
